Competitive starting salary range from £44,965 - £51,314 per annum (dependent upon experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered

Our dedicated Teaching Fellow team are subject specialists focused on delivering student education, which is active, social, applied, and inclusive within our vibrant and varied education environment.


 

The School of Health and Care delivers an extensive range of undergraduate and post graduate courses for professionals working in health and social care settings including; nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, diagnostic radiography, clinical psychology and public health. We also have a large portfolio of CPD courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Advanced Clinical Practice, Independent prescribing and Global Healthcare Management.

The Role

 

As Senior Teaching Fellow you will lead the development of both undergraduate and postgraduate courses within the physiotherapy portfolio.  You will be responsible for leading the delivery of teaching, learning and assessment and will contribute to course quality monitoring and enhancement, working with a range of external partners and stakeholders.
 

You will undertake teaching and module leadership while supporting the development and delivery of programs with innovative teaching and learning approaches to enhance student experience.  You will contribute to curriculum development by actively participating in School’s Curriculum Review and Transformation.
 

You will lead on aspects of the student learning experience including the leadership of staff teams. Based within the School of Health and Care you will work with and lead academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.

Qualifications Required

 

•    Master’s degree in an appropriate subject and an appropriate professional qualification and/or membership
•    Registered Physiotherapist with the HCPC 
•    A teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education
•    PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body advantageous

Our Successful Candidate

 

You will be a HCPC registered physiotherapist with demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education and/or substantial clinical experience and expertise.
 

You will be an experienced team leader who is enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with high-quality presentation skills, ability to mentor and coach other members of the team.
 

Demonstrating a good level of digital fluency, you will have experience creating teaching materials for face to face and online teaching, alongside experience in the development and enhancement of an ‘active learning’ pedagogy as appropriate to the physiotherapy education and practice. 
 

As a global education provider, high levels of cultural awareness with experience of learner’s cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds is essential. Innovation and collaboration are key to our success, therefore the ability to generate and follow through innovative ideas, work both independently and part of a wider team with the willingness to engage in flexible ways of working are key skills required for this role.
