Competitive starting salary range from £31,792 up to £35,937 per annum (dependent upon experience) with the potential to progress.  A discretionary range for candidates with execptional experience can be discussed/considered.

The Role

 

As an Assistant Teaching Fellow in Adult Nursing based within the School of Health and Care you will support teaching, assessment and the wider development and delivery of undergraduate teaching alongside other core activities.

 

Assisting in teaching on modules and courses at Higher Education levels 4, 5 and 6 in relevant academic subject areas, you will deliver a variety of types of student learning sessions including small group teaching and marking. Supporting students as appropriate through both informal and formal communication throughout teaching semesters students have an effective learning experience.

 

Duties include:

  • Uphold high standards of academic integrity in all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment and to support students in this objective.
  • Supporting teaching, acting in the role of a seminar lead working closely with the associated module leader
  • Conducting a range of assessments across learner levels constructing and disseminating both formative and summative feedback. 
  • Acting as an academic assessor to an allocated group of students 
  • Supporting both theory based and practice learning based simulation activities. 

Qualifications Required

 

  • NMC Registration in Adult Nursing (Current and Active) is essential for this role. 
  • Bachelor’s Honours degree in an appropriate/ relevant subject area with a professional qualification. 
  • Master’s degree in an appropriate subject would be an advantage,
  • PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body would also be advantageous
  • Willingness to acquire a teaching qualification if not already held.

You will have the ability to demonstrate best practice in teaching, learning and assessment along with high standards in engagement consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.

 

A strong communicator with excellent digital, you will have experience using Aula or other forms of communication to deliver student communications, assurance of timely and accurate information and high standard teaching material. Experience facilitating excellent academic working relationships to foster student academic cohesion and a sense of academic community and belonging is required.
