The Role

 

As a member of Coventry University Online team, the Associate Lecturer will be part of the Tutor Services Team and will be responsible for quality driven learning facilitation on a module-based system to a cohort of students through the Aula platform.

 

This course utilises the Aula platform to present content material to students that is applied in ‘live’ workshop sessions. You will be skilled in using technology to enable effective support to both large/small cohorts of students at distance, utilising the Aula platform. This will include ‘live’ sessions, forums and managing more specific queries and questions through email. With the support of Module Leaders, you will be responsible for the preparation and delivery of learning support to individuals and/or groups, marking coursework, assignments, projects, and examinations.

 

You will be required to undertake module leadership after a year if new to Higher Education, or immediately if you have the relevant experience. You will also supervise students in developing, planning, and carrying out their final project. 

 

You will have the ability to provide clear feedback on exercises and assignments, as well as ensuring that teaching challenges thinking, fosters debate and develops the ability of the students to engage in critical discourse and rational thinking.

 

Qualifications Required

 

You will hold a Master’s degree in Psychology or (if from Professional practice background) a good Honours Degree and/ or appropriate professional qualification and membership e.g. Division of BPS/ABP.

Our Successful Candidate

 

You will be a subject expert in Business and Organisational Psychology and will have previously taught at Post Graduate Level. You will also have recent experience of teaching within a higher educational setting.

 

You will have experience of good/innovative pedagogic practice, or (If from Professional practice background) evidence of high-quality presentation skills, and evidence of coaching, or mentoring and teaching other professionals.

 

You will have experience of using technology to deliver learning support to large numbers of distance students.

 

You will have experience of driving learning by employing formative and summative feedback and supporting students to demonstrate course learning outcomes.

 

Knowledge and experience of using Aula, or similar education and learning platforms would be advantageous.
