Competitive starting salary range from £55,075 up to £62,851 per annum (dependent upon experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered

The Role

 

The role of Head of Group Financial Accounting involves leading the financial accounting team to support the Group’s financial operations, ensuring timely and accurate completion of annual financial statements and audits. Key responsibilities include:

 

•    Managing and developing the financial accounting team.
•    Coordinating the preparation and review of annual financial statements and audit files.
•    Collaborating with external auditors for statutory and interim audits.
•    Reviewing and signing off monthly balance sheet reconciliations for overseas subsidiaries.
•    Supporting cash flow forecasting and investment of surplus funds.
•    Ensuring financial compliance and contributing to risk register updates.
•    Assisting with intercompany account reconciliations.
•    Sharing best practices across the finance network and supporting skill development in other finance teams.

Our Successful Candidate

 

You will be a qualified accountant with CCAB (Consultative Committee of Accounting Bodies) accounting qualification of at least a Fellow level membership – ACCA/ACA or CIMA.

 

 Being a qualified Accountant with CCAB (Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies) accounting qualification of at least a ‘Fellow’ level membership and/or a good honours degree would be advantageous.

 

You will have a background in financial accounting, particularly in statutory accounting, with knowledge of financial accounting, statutory accounts and withing with external auditors. Your experience will also include balance sheet control account reconciliations, along with cash flow reporting and planning.

 

You will have working knowledge of the higher education sector. Experience of the Financial accounting in the Higher Education Sector would be advantageous.
