The Role

 

This role is based in Coventry and is for a fixed term of 3 months

 

We are currently looking to appoint an Accelerated Knowledge Transfer Partner to deliver a recently awarded Innovate UK funded project entitled ‘Using Movement to Encourage contiNueD recovery from addiction: The MEND project’.You will work under the supervision of Professor David Broom (Coventry University) and other partners. You will be responsible for working with a collaboration of organisations who are working together to ensure movement is encouraged and undertaken in at least 50 people recovering from addictions in Coventry as it can play a significant role in their recovery process, long-term wellness and prevention of harm.

 

You will be responsible for leading, developing and managing the project, ensuring that objectives are met, reporting duties and reporting is conducted in line with project plans. This includes co-designing with people with lived experience movement opportunities that may include local green walks in parks or sporting competitions. You will then develop a best practice guide.You will engage in professional development and training as demanded to ensure you keep up to date with developments in your field.This unique opportunity will enable you to work with academic experts and apply research evidence in behaviour change interventions and implementation.

Qualifications Required

 

Applicants will have a Degree (1st class or 2.1) in an appropriate subject such as sport and exercise science, sport development, coaching, public health or psychology and a PhD (or equivalent work experience) in relevant field such as sport and exercise science, sport development, coaching, public health or psychology.

Our Successful Candidate

 

Will be enthusiastic and self-motivated and it is essential you will have experience of working with people with complex needs on research and / or industry related projects.Ideally you will have worked with organisations outside of academia especially public sector and/or the voluntary sector.  You will have experience of public engagement, knowledge-transfer or implementation science methods and will have engaged with policy engagement activities in this or related fields.  You will have previously disseminated research through publishing, social and other media.  Experience and or understanding of the addiction commissioning landscape would be advantageous.
