Competitive starting salary range from £38,781 up to £44,093 per annum (dependent upon experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered

This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our team as Lecturer (Teaching) supporting our Nursing Associate courses. 

The Role

 

As a Lecturer (Teaching) supporting our Nursing Associate courses you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students and our apprentices have an effective learning experience. 

 

Based onsite at Coventry University in Coventry, you will work closely with academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience, ensuring relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.


Duties include:


•    Teach on modules and courses at HE levels 4-7 in relevant academic subject areas including curation, adaptation and creation of module teaching materials, delivering a variety of types of students learning sessions and supporting students as appropriate through informal and formal communication throughout teaching blocks. 
•    Supporting the design, implementation, ratification and quality assurance processes related to student assessment.  
•    The preparation and dissemination of both generic and specific formative and summative student feedback. 
•    Undertaking progress reviews for our apprenticeship learners. 
•    Undertaking the role of Academic Assessor 
•    Supporting course recruitment activities such as interviews and open days.
•    Upholding high standards of academic integrity in all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment

Qualifications Required

 

•    Active and live registration with the NMC.
•    Practice Assessor training and experience of supporting student nurses is also essential for the role. 
•    Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or Honours Degree with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership is essential. 
•    A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one if not already held
•    PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous

You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education or within clinical practice supporting with high standards of teaching, learning and student engagement consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.

 

Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience supporting, enhancing and engaging in an ‘active learning’ pedagogy with evidence in proactively supporting student success.

 

As a global education provider, experience and awareness of learners cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds is essential.

 

Innovation and collaboration are key to our success, therefore the ability to work both independently and part of a wider team with the willingness to engage in flexible ways of working are key skills required for this role.
