Candidates must have strong and up to date awareness of developments within the fashion industry and be enthused to work in innovative and experimental ways across our suite of fashion courses, developing directional and globally competitive portfolios of work with our students, and enhancing the visibility of the suite of courses through contributing to promotional material.

Candidates must be confident to engage with physical and online teaching methods, practices, tools, and an integrated and at times cross-disciplinary approach to studio teaching and learning.  The achievement and satisfaction of our students is our top priority; candidates must be qualified (or be willing to become qualified) to teach and assess at undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Qualifications Required

•    Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or Honours Degree with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership

•    A teaching qualification or acceptance of the requirement to acquire one if not already held

•    PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous

Our Successful Candidate

Our successful candidate will be dynamic, keen to continue/build an academic profile in creative arts education and experienced in the field of fashion. You will be actively engaged in the broad area of fashion design, marketing, promotion and / or communication and must have a proven track record of applying specialist fashion skills within the creative sector.

Applicants should be qualified at least to Master’s Level (or with equivalent professional experience) and have a good understanding of the fashion industry, innovative practice and the role of fashion in contemporary culture and to UK Higher Education. Experience of education innovation would be advantageous. You will need to be able to demonstrate high level digital fluency and a continuing engagement with professional, scholarly and pedagogic development - those without a teaching qualification will be required to undertake Coventry University’s PGCHE or secure a HEA fellowship.
