Our dedicated teaching team are subject specialists focused on delivering student education, which is active, social, applied, and inclusive within our vibrant and varied education environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Lecturer (Teaching) in our Nursing Practice Education Team.
The Role
As a Lecturer (Teaching) in our Nursing Practice Education Team, you will be supporting students during their placements throughout their course. You will support the delivery of practice modules and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience.
Based on-site at Coventry University in Coventry, you will work closely with other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure, as appropriate, relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.
Duties include:
- Supporting practice learning activities
- Supporting both students and practice partners with practice based learning.
- Supporting ratification and quality assurance processes related to student assessment.
- Supporting placement quality assurance monitoring.
- Supporting with student placement allcoations.
- The preparation and dissemination of both generic and specific formative and summative student feedback.
- Supporting our delivery of simulated practice learning activities.
- Upholding high standards of academic integrity in all aspects of teaching, learning and assessment.
Qualifications Required
- Active and live registration with the NMC is essential for the role.
- A Master’s degree in an appropriate subject or a good Honours Degree (if from a professional practice background) with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership is essential.
- A teaching qualification is desirable.
Our Successful Candidate
You will have strong leadership skills and experience within higher education and/or clinical practice settings. Experience of supporting student nurses learning is essential for the role.
You will be able to demonstrate experience of sucessful teaching methods either in higher education or clinical practice consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience in enhancing and engaging in an ‘active learning’ pedagogy with evidence in proactively supporting student success.
As a global education provider, experience and awareness of learner’s cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds is essential. Innovation and collaboration are key to our success, therefore the ability to work both independently and part of a wider team with the willingness to engage in flexible ways of working are key skills required for this role.
