The Role

 

We’re looking for a creative and strategic Marketing Content Manager to lead the production and delivery of compelling, user-centred content across Coventry University Group’s marketing channels. Based in our Corporate Services team in Coventry, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping how we communicate with prospective and current students, ensuring our messaging is consistent, engaging, and aligned with our brand values.

 

In this role you will manage a team of content producers and copywriters, providing leadership, direction, and quality control to ensure all content supports student recruitment, engagement, and reputation-building goals. This is a fast-paced, collaborative role where you’ll work closely with colleagues across marketing, recruitment, and digital teams to deliver impactful content that drives conversion and enhances the student experience.

Key Responsibilities for the role include:

 

Content Strategy & Planning: Lead the development and execution of a content strategy that supports student recruitment, engagement, and brand positioning.

 

Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of content producers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.

 

Content Production: Oversee the creation of high-quality, on-brand content across digital and print platforms, ensuring consistency in tone, style, and messaging.

 

Brand Alignment: Ensure all content aligns with Coventry University Group’s brand values and messaging framework.

 

Quality Control: Implement editorial standards and review processes to maintain high content quality and reduce off-brand messaging.

 

Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, recruitment, and digital teams to align content with campaign goals and user journeys.

 

Innovation & Best Practice: Stay informed about content trends and digital innovations, guiding the team to adopt new tools and strategies.

 

Efficiency & Workflow: Streamline content creation processes to improve turnaround times and responsiveness to recruitment cycles.

Our Successful Candidate

 

You will be educated to degree level or will have significant work experience in a similar role working within a related area.

 

You will have proven experience in content strategy, production, and team leadership within a marketing or communications environment and a strong understanding of brand management, tone of voice, and audience engagement.

 

You will have excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and consistency and experience managing content across multiple platforms, including web, email, social media, and print.

 

You can lead and inspire a team, providing clear direction and fostering a positive, collaborative culture along with strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

 

You will have experience and knowledge of digital marketing trends and tools, with a proactive approach to innovation and continuous improvement.

 

An understanding of the higher education sector and student recruitment would be an advantage.
