This role is based within CU Corporate Services Limited, a sister company of Coventry University and part of the Coventry University Group.
The Role
We are recruiting a Procurement & Contract Officer to join our busy Procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for playing a key part in providing a high-quality, cost-effective procurement service across the Coventry University Group, ensuring adherence to Financial Procedures, Regulations, Procurement Strategy and UK legislation.
In the role you will lead the procurement lifecycle in low/medium risk projects, whilst playing a supportive role in more higher risk/value projects as and when needed. You will provide expert guidance on procurement and contract management, whilst ensuring that we remain compliant with public sector regulations and institutional policies.
You will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders in developing specifications and tender criteria which meet legislative and regulatory requirements, whilst managing expectations of clients with clear and actionable deliverables and driving value for money, risk mitigation and stakeholder confidence in procurement excellence.
You will also provide support the Senior Category Manager for Professional Services and mentor junior team members.
Our Successful Candidate
You will have a good general level of education to A-Level standard or Equivalent and hold or be working towards a MCIPS (Member of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply).
From your previous experience you will have a strong procurement background and knowledge of public sector regulations. You will have experience of working with customers, handling queries and provide specialist advice and guidance.
You will have experience in working with large spreadsheets and databases and will have previously used hardware and software asset management systems.
You will be a flexible, proactive professional who can meet deadlines and adapt to changing priorities. You will be an excellent communicator, with strong stakeholder engagement skills.
Experience of working within procurement in the education or a public sector would be advantageous.
