Competitive starting salary range from £31,637 up to £35,116 (dependent on experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered.

The National Centre for Accessible Transport aims to create a barrier-free transport system, through commissioning robust evidence and actively listening to the voices and expertise of disabled people. The Role

 

 

As Research Assistant in ncat, you will support ncat research activities under the guidance of the research lead, including conducting fieldwork, managing and analysing data, and contributing to reports. The role involves planning and coordinating day-to-day research, participating in team activities, supporting consultancy projects, and contributing to knowledge exchange and funding proposals.

Qualifications Required

 

A good degree (1st class or 2:1) in a relevant subject such as Engineering or Psychology, or equivalent professional experience, is required. 

 

A PhD or near completion in a related discipline is advantageous. Candidates should have sound knowledge of qualitative research methods, strong organisational skills, and experience in independent and collaborative work.

The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, ability to work both independently and as part of a team, and familiarity with research ethics and regulations. 

 

They should be self-motivated, capable of contributing to publications and presentations, and willing to travel nationally when required. Flexibility and initiative in developing their own career path will also be essential
