The Role
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to contribute to/make a leading contribution to the project ‘An integrated analysis of S-acylation dynamics and its importance in cell physiology’ working with Jennifer Greaves, as well as national and international collaborators.
This BBSRC-funded ‘Strategic longer larger’ (sLoLa) project is led by the University of Strathclyde, with partner organisations across the UK. We will apply a multi-disciplinary Team Science approach to deliver fundamental new insights into the role of S-acylation in cell physiology.
In this role you will develop research objectives and proposals for your own and joint research that incorporates in principles of impact planning. You will contribute to larger projects under the direction of the principal investigator and contribute to the REF impact, currently rated excellent nationally and internationally.
Qualifications Required
PhD (or equivalent) or professional experience equivalent to a PhD demonstrating an ability to carry-out independent research.
A 1st Class/2.1 Degree in Cell, Molecular, or Chemical Biology, Biochemistry, Biomolecular Science, or related subjects.
Our Successful Candidate
You should have prior experience of mammalian cell culture and expertise in molecular cell biology and protein biochemistry to contribute to the wider sLoLa team. Previous research experience in protein post-translational modifications will be an advantage.
You will also be expected to contribute to the formulation and submission of research reports, publications, and research proposals, as well as help manage and direct this complex and challenging project as opportunities allow.
Previous experience of active involvement in research at University level is essential.
