Competitive starting salary range from £32,942 up to £37,087 per annum (dependent upon experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered

Research Services (RS) has a key role to play in the continued delivery of the University’s Research Strategy through providing targeted and specialist support to the University’s researchers.

We’re looking for a Research Funding and Development Co-ordinator to join our Research Services pre-award team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the University’s research portfolio and supporting researchers to achieve funding success.
Key duties include:


As part of our dynamic Research Funding, Development and Governance team, you will:


•    Coordinate research funding submissions, ensuring proposals are high quality and competitive.
•    Provide expert advice on funder guidelines, eligibility and costing.
•    Help embed research impact into project design, supporting projects that have real-world      benefits.
•    Develop and share clear, practical guidance for researchers through training, information sessions, workshops and events.
•    Act as a central point of contact for internal funding processes, making them smooth and      efficient.
•    Support the delivery of exciting strategic and transdisciplinary projects.
•    Work closely with academics, research centres, and professional services across the University to enable research excellence.

Our Successful Candidate

 

We’re looking for someone who is:


•    Educated to degree level (or equivalent experience).
•    Knowledgeable about the higher education sector and research funding landscape.
•    Confident in providing advice, preparing bids, and ensuring projects stay on track.
•    Skilled in communication - both written and verbal - with strong attention to detail.
•    Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities, and enjoy working as part of a team.

     Experience with research costing, pricing, or full economic costing would be a bonus, but      training and support will be provided.
