The Role
As Senior Teaching Fellow in Metrology and Quality Engineering you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience. Senior Teaching Fellows lead on aspects of the student learning experience including the leadership of staff teams.
This role will appeal to candidates wishing to move into teaching and expand their focus on pedagogic practice and curriculum design and therefore candidates with an academic or industrial background my consider applying for this post.
Based within the College of Engineering, Environment & Science (EES) you will work with and lead other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure, as appropriate, relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.
This post is teaching centred where you will focus on modules at different academic levels, including undergraduate (mainly industrial part time) and post-graduate levels.

You will be passionate about manufacturing excellence with an emphasis on the applied Measurement and Metrology practices, a candidate who wishes to significantly contribute to the continuous development and the delivery of our courses and help continue our success.
This post is teaching centred and will use your experience in lecturing Higher Education level 4-7 and if from an industrial background will use your experience of high-quality presentation skills, coaching, mentoring or training other professionals
You will have expertise and attributes in one or more of the following areas:
- Experience of applied measurement practices and technologies in an industrial setting.
- Some experience of teaching in Higher/ Further Education or training within industry.
- An understanding of productivity improvement factors, especially around applied metrology and quality engineering
- A proactive approach to developing industrial relationships and networking
- Demonstration of best practice in Continuous Professional Development
You will be an experienced team leader with good level of digital fluency, you will have experience using creating teaching and assessment materials for face to face and online teaching using a Virtual Learning Environment (Aula is used within Coventry University).
As a global education provider, you will exhibit high levels of cultural awareness with experience of learner’s cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
