The Role

 

As Senior Teaching Fellow in Prescribing, E-Portfolio and Advanced Practice you will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience. Senior Teaching Fellows lead on aspects of the student learning experience including the leadership of staff teams.

 

Based within the School of Health & Care you will work with and lead other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.

 

Duties include:

 

  • Lead the curation, adaptation, design and development of module and course teaching materials including Curriculum development.
  • Teaching on modules and courses at HE levels 6 and 7 in relevant academic subject areas delivering a variety of types of student learning sessions and supporting students as appropriate through informal and formal communication throughout teaching semesters. Leading teams of teaching staff.
  • Leading the long-term conditions module.

Qualifications Required

 

  • Master’s degree in an appropriate subject OR (if from a professional practice background) a good Honors Degree and an appropriate professional qualification and/or membership
  • A teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education
  • PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body is advantageous

You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education levels 4-7 with the development and demonstration of best practice in teaching, learning and assessment consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.

 

An experienced team leader with good level of digital fluency, you will have experience using creating teaching materials for face to face and online teaching using a VLE.

 

Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience in the development and enhancement of an ‘active learning’ pedagogy as appropriate to the academic subject area.

 

As a global education provider, high levels of cultural awareness with experience of learner’s cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
