Competitive starting salary range from £30,956 up to £43,329 per annum (dependent upon experience) with the potential to progress. A discretionary range for candidates with exceptional experience can be discussed/considered.

CU Recruitment and Admissions Limited (part of the Coventry University Group) is building a new approach to student recruitment and Sponsorship Compliance, establishing strategies that position Coventry University Group as a dominant local, national and international recruiter.  

The Role

 

Based in Coventry, as Visa Sponsorship Compliance Senior Specialist, you will play a key role in supporting the University’s visa sponsorship responsibilities by ensuring pre-enrolment activity is fully aligned with UKVI regulations. 

 

Your focus will be on accurate documentation, quality assurance, and effective communication with stakeholders across the institution. You will also support regulatory audit-readiness and provide expert immigration-related advice in collaboration with the wider team.

 

Reporting to the Senior Visa Compliance Manager, you will act as a business partner to teams across the Group, championing compliance excellence and helping to ensure our ability to recruit and support international students remains strong and sustainable. 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ensure all pre-enrolment activities are audit-ready and compliant with UKVI sponsor guidance.
  • Conduct quality checks on key documentation such as credibility interviews, bank statements, and CAS assessments.
  • Act as a compliance advisor to admissions and other stakeholders, promoting accurate interpretation of sponsor guidance and immigration policy.
  • Suggest and support improvements to existing compliance processes and documentation.
  • Maintain up-to-date expert knowledge of UKVI requirements and deliver accurate, timely guidance.
  • Work closely with Admissions, Registry, and other departments to meet record-keeping and compliance expectations for sponsored students.
  • Contribute to a culture of attention to detail and compliance excellence across CURA and the wider university group.

Our Successful Candidate

 

We’re seeking a detail-orientated, proactive individual with experience in compliance, immigration, and/or the Higher Education sector. You will have a strong understanding of working within a regulatory framework and will have the ability to interpret regulations and apply them in a practical context. 

 

You should posses excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manager priorities and meet tight deadlines as well as being confident in providing specialist advice and working collaboratively across the Group.
