The Role

 

We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technician to join our growing School of Engineering and IT (SEIT) at CU London. This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across a range of engineering, cloud computing, cybersecurity and computing programmes.

 

Working under the guidance of the Senior Technician, you will:

 

  • Provide technical support to staff and students
  • Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, tools and software
  • Ensure a safe and effective learning environment.

 

In this hands-on role, you will work closely with academic teams and students, in computing and engineering labs, to ensure a safe, effective, and innovative learning experience. This position is ideal for someone with a practical mind-set, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for supporting digital and technical education.

 

This role is based in our Dagenham Campus.

Our Successful Candidate

 

The successful candidate will hold a HND in a STEM/Technology related subject area with relevant experience in academia or industry, be a highly motivated and passionate about technical education, with a working knowledge of a range of engineering and IT disciplines.

 

Demonstrating a practical hands-on aptitude with a solid understanding of safe working practises and risk management.

 

Able to remain calm while applying logical problem solving and troubleshooting skills in a dynamic environment.

 

Possess excellent communication abilities and engage confidently with both students and staff.

 

A commitment to delivering a positive and supportive student experience is key.
