Our dedicated Teaching Fellow team are subject specialists focused on delivering student education, which is active, social, applied, and inclusive within our vibrant and varied education environment.
The Role
As Senior Teaching Fellow in Practice Education you will support the delivery of nursing and nursing associate education. Based at our London Campus as a member of the Practice Education Team, you will lead on the delivery of high quality practice education placement experiences for nursing and nursing associate students accessing placements in London and South of England. You will work with and lead other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience.
Duties include:
• Leading on the development, maintenance and quality monitoring of NHS and Non-NHS placements in London and the south of England.
• Contemporaneous forecasting and allocation of students to placements in London and the south of England.
• Supporting students and staff in practice to enable high quality student practice learning experiences.
• Contributing and leading on the delivery of core activities to support student practice placement learning within London and the south of England.
Qualifications Required
• Active and live registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
• Master’s degree in an appropriate subject OR (if from a professional practice background) a good Honors Degree and an appropriate professional qualification and/or membership.
• A teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education.
Our Successful Candidate
You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education levels 4-7 in Nursing / Nursing Associate topics with the development and demonstration of best practice in teaching, learning and assessment consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning. Highly organised, enthusiastic, and self-motivated, you will have experience in the development and enhancement of an ‘active learning’ pedagogy as appropriate to the academic subject area.
An experienced team leader with good level of digital fluency.
As a global education provider, high levels of cultural awareness with experience of learner’s cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
Innovation and collaboration are key to our success, therefore the ability to generate and follow through innovative ideas, work both independently and part of a wider team with the willingness to engage in flexible ways of working are key skills required for this role.
